XML-RPC Information

What is XML-RPC?

XML-RPC is a lightweight Internet protocol for requesting remote services. All requests and responses are expressed as XML documents carried by HTTP messages.

Where is the official XML-RPC specification?

The official spec is maintained by Dave Winer of UserLand. UserLand claims a copywrite on the spec, but disclaims ownership of the protocol itself.

We have published a document specifying extensions to XML-RPC.

We also created a DTD for XML-RPC based on the spec and extensions.

Where can I learn more about XML-RPC?

There is an email list at www.egroups.com/group/xml-rpc.

The www.xmlrpc.com site maintained by UserLand has many pointers and its own discussion group (which is being fed into the egroups group as well).

A Proposal for an Expanded and Enhanced XML-RPC Standard.
